New York (CNN Business) A Chinese court has banned the sale and import of most iPhone models in a stunning decision amid the trade war between the United States and China.
The ban does not cover the new iPhone XS, iPhone XS Plus or iPhone XR, which were not yet available when Qualcomm filed its lawsuit.
Why is China banning iPhones?
The Fuzhou court ruled that Apple infringed two of Qualcomm’s patents and granted a requested injunction against the sale of the Apple products that are currently in the market ranging from the iPhone 6S to the iPhone X. This means that Apple is essentially banned from selling all infringing iPhones in China.
