The Google Code of Conduct is one of the ways we put “Don’t be evil” into practice Between 21 April and 4 May 2018, Google removed the motto from the preface, leaving a mention in the final line: “And remember… don’t be evil, and if you see something that you think isn’t right – speak up!”
Is Google a bad company?
It’s not so much about being evil but rather Google is large enough and powerful enough to be above the law. They have the power to shape society and they do. So Google itself doesn’t see themselves as evil. Google is very much in a grey area, as are most corporations in this world.
